Established in 2003

The Collegiate Council was established in 2003 as an initiative to get college students involved in the future of ASME-Petroleum Division (PD). PD through its resources of information and member- volunteers, organizes and conducts technical conferences and workshops, fosters continued growth of engineering education, offers technical fellowship, promotes petroleum mechanical engineering as a career choice, and provides career development activities for engineers. The Collegiate Council consists of 14 students from universities in North America and Mexico. As members of the Collegiate Council, students are able to learn more about the Oil and Gas industry, network with professionals, and interact with other students who share similar interests.

Our Mission.

The ASME Petroleum Division Collegiate Council is a group of motivated students whose mission is to expose, educate and help members discover opportunities within the oil and gas industry by improving their capabilities as students and future professionals.

The ASME Petroleum Division Collegiate Council plans to expand its current program in both the number of members and project complexity, and will continue to develop a system that can be implemented by other divisions to create similar opportunities for students with interest in multiple disciplines.
